About the Role

We are seeking an entrepreneurial Buyer & Category Manager – DIY Jewelry Products to build and grow one of our newest and most exciting product categories.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the DIY jewelry-making industry and has experience sourcing products, building vendor relationships, developing compelling assortments, and growing a profitable merchandise category.

You will own the category from strategy through execution—identifying new product opportunities, developing exclusive assortments, managing supplier partnerships, and collaborating with merchandising, marketing, production, and digital teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience across multiple sales channels.

GemCraft Studio is Shop LC's exciting new venture dedicated to the growing world of DIY jewelry making. Designed for hobbyists, creators, and professional jewelry designers, GemCraft Studio will offer a curated selection of beads, gemstones, findings, jewelry-making tools, components, kits, and educational content across TV, digital commerce, and livestream shopping.

We're building a destination where creativity meets inspiration—and we're looking for an experienced category leader to help bring that vision to life.

What You'll Do Own and Grow the Category

Develop and execute the merchandising strategy for the DIY Jewelry Products category.

Build a compelling assortment that appeals to beginners, hobbyists, and professional jewelry makers.

Manage category performance, including sales, margins, inventory productivity, and product lifecycle.

Identify market trends, customer needs, and opportunities to expand the category.

Source and develop products across key DIY jewelry categories, including:

Gemstone, glass, crystal, metal, wood, acrylic, and specialty beads

Jewelry findings, clasps, ear wires, jump rings, head pins, eye pins, and connectors

Loose gemstones, cabochons, charms, pendants, chain, and jewelry components

Jewelry-making tools, pliers, wire, storage solutions, bead boards, and accessories

DIY jewelry-making kits and curated project bundles

Build Global Supplier Partnerships

Develop and manage relationships with domestic and international suppliers across key sourcing markets, including:

India (gemstones, beads, and jewelry components)

Thailand (silver findings and components)

China (tools, components, and accessories)

United States (specialty products, tools, and kits)

Responsibilities include:

Identifying and onboarding new suppliers

Negotiating pricing and commercial terms

Managing product quality and supplier performance

Driving product innovation and exclusive offerings

Develop exclusive DIY jewelry kits and curated collections.

Create product assortments that support TV, e-commerce, livestream, and digital sales.

Partner with creative and production teams to develop engaging product presentations and educational content.

Support seasonal launches, promotions, and merchandising initiatives.

What We're Looking For Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in buying, merchandising, category management, or product sourcing.

Experience within DIY jewelry, jewelry-making supplies, craft products, gemstones, beads, jewelry components, or closely related categories.

Strong knowledge of jewelry-making materials such as beads, findings, wire, gemstones, charms, cabochons, and components.

Proven success sourcing products, developing supplier relationships, and negotiating commercial agreements.

Experience managing product assortments, pricing, margins, inventory, and category performance.

Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing DIY kits or craft-based product assortments.

Experience sourcing products from international suppliers.

Knowledge of gemstone materials and lapidary products is a plus.

Experience supporting omnichannel retail, including e-commerce, TV retail, livestream commerce, or specialty retail environments.

Passion for jewelry making, crafting, or creative hobbies.
