GEM is seeking Project Managers who can drive performance, build strong teams, and enhance customer relationships. Project Managers at GEM may lead projects within a specific trade or technical discipline, or coordinate work across multiple disciplines as project scope requires. This approach allows Project Managers to manage projects from concept through completion, deepen expertise within their discipline or broaden exposure across trades and industries, and leverage the resources, safety culture, and long-term stability of a nationally recognized construction group-while still operating within the hands-on, trade-driven environment that defines GEM.
We are seeking candidates to be based out of each of our office locations (North Ridgeville, Lima, and Livonia), as well as candidates that are willing to travel to out-of-town jobs for the duration of the job.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
-Responsible for general operational oversight and completion of commercial and industrial construction projects.
-Responsible for developing and implementing strategies for timely and cost-effective completion of projects.
-Provide project status updates to the management team regularly.
-Identifying potential risks, assessing their impact on the project, and developing strategies to mitigate or manage these risks effectively.
-Prioritizing and enforcing safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
-Ensuring that the project adheres to quality standards and specifications, conducting inspections, and implementing quality assurance and quality control processes.
-Addressing and resolving issues and challenges that arise during construction, making informed decisions, and preventing delays or disruptions.
-Leading and managing the project team through the successful completion of projects.
-Developing and maintaining relationships with key customers.
-Participation in strategic and operational initiatives to enhance, grow, and improve the company.
SKILLS
-Ability to travel out-of-state for the duration of projects, preferred.
-Strong situational awareness: Grasps concept of conversation even if it is an area outside their expertise and reads the dynamics of a room and modifies their behavior accordingly.
-Ability to work through problems (technical/non-technical) in a crisis, make decisions, and provide clear directions. Recognizes and asks questions to seek to understand and drive to a conclusion.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
-A bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management
-A minimum of 5 years of experience working in the construction industry and project management.
-Experience managing multi-disciplinary projects, preferred.
-Completed OSHA 30 training preferred.
-Experience with different contract delivery methods is preferred.
-History of managing commercial and industrial construction projects.
