Pneumatic and Hydraulic Co. is seeking a Hydraulic Specialist to support our customers through a combination of technical hydraulic system design, engineering support, and outside sales. This position is ideal for someone with strong hydraulic expertise who enjoys working directly with customers, solving complex fluid power challenges, and helping drive business growth.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and grow customer relationships within an assigned territory.
  • Generate new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and cold calling.
  • Manage existing customer accounts while identifying new sales opportunities.
  • Meet and exceed territory sales and business development goals.
  • Identify customer hydraulic and fluid power needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Provide technical support related to hydraulic systems, components, and applications.
  • Assist customers with hydraulic component selection and system recommendations.
  • Coordinate with engineering, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver successful customer solutions.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic system issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare quotations, follow up on opportunities, and maintain accurate CRM and sales documentation.
  • Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory to support customers and grow the business.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in an industrial or technical sales environment.
  • Strong business development, prospecting, and account management skills.
  • Hydraulic, fluid power, mechanical, or industrial equipment experience.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
  • Professional presentation and customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with hydraulic systems, pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, or fluid power components.
  • Ability to read hydraulic schematics, P&IDs, or technical drawings.
  • Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, heavy equipment, construction, or oil & gas customers.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent industry experience.
  • Fluid power design or troubleshooting experience is a plus.

Location

Geismar, LA

This position is based out of our Geismar branch and supports customers throughout the surrounding Louisiana territory. Regular travel within the assigned territory is required to provide customer support, develop new business, and assist with project execution.

Schedule

Full-time, exempt position. Typical hours are Monday through Friday with flexibility based on customer and project needs. Travel within the territory is required.
