Job Description Summary
We are seeking experienced Repair Development Engineers to join our Aeroderivative Engine Operations (AEO) team. In this role, you will help develop and implement innovative repair solutions across our aeroderivative engine fleet, including LM500, LM5000, LM6000, LM2500, LMS100, and LM1600 products.
The AEO Repair Engineering team plays a critical role in advancing repair capabilities for both our GE Aerospace repair shops and customer-operated facilities. This work directly supports GE Aerospace as well as our end customer to drive impactful business outcomes such as productivity enhancements and shorter term around time and the long-term serviceability of our aeroderivative products for customers around the world.
As a Repair Development Engineer, you will serve as an individual contributor responsible for leading projects while guided by established business policies, procedures, standards and best practices. You will apply engineering judgment, solve complex technical problems, and collaborate across functions to bring repair technologies from concept through implementation and industrialization. This role offers a strong balance of autonomy, technical depth, and cross-functional impact.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop repair and inspection technologies that support both short-term execution and long-term business needs.
  • Partner across engineering, manufacturing, operations, and other functions to develop, implement, and industrialize repairs that support internal shops and customer repair facilities.
  • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend practical, effective solutions to improve repair-related products, processes, and services.
  • Provide technical leadership on assigned projects, helping teams solve complex problems involving technical variety and interdependent processes.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced engineers and team members.
  • Apply prior experience and technical expertise to meet product and project deliverables, drawing from both internal and external resources as needed.
  • Prepare and present technical information and recommendations to internal stakeholders, leadership, and external customers.
  • Promote open communication and share engineering knowledge, including timely escalation of significant issues or developments.
  • Ensure technical data and project documentation are accurate, complete, and compliant with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Build specialized expertise within your discipline and contribute to best practices, technical strategy, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Use sound engineering judgment and data-driven analysis to solve moderately complex technical and operational challenges.
  • Take a fresh perspective on existing solutions and identify opportunities for faster, simpler, and more effective approaches.
  • May lead small projects with moderate risk and resource requirements, while building alignment across teams and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of additional experience in engineering, manufacturing, or repair.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
