Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is seeking a GDOT Design Build Office Manager to join our team to support various projects near Savannah, GA. Advanced level Administrative and technical work supporting engineers in functional areas of Transportation facility construction inspection, documentation, and materials sampling/testing. Employee supports engineering in managing the office aspects of the project: preparing progress statements, preparing construction reports, performing project closeout, and submitting monthly invoices.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Typicalย areasย ofย complianceย responsibility include Subcontracts, DBEย Compliance,ย Payrollย Verification,ย Onย theย Jobย Training,ย Bulletinย Board,ย and discrepancyย resolution.ย ย Assistย withย DBEย relatedย documentationย andย correspondenceย toย assuring accuracyย andย timelyย submission.ย  ย ย 
  • Review, monitor, evaluate and act upon documentation required for GDOT Construction Contract compliance, and maintain the appropriate files thereof.
  • Assist Construction Quality Assurance Manager (CQAM) with project related payment records and documentation
  • Prepare and Process Progress and Final Payment Reports
  • Work closely with Project Construciton Engineering and Inspection (CEI) Team in Construction related documentation and document control
  • Research Project related information and documentation as necessary

Additional Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with training Consultant staff including sub consultants
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in computer systems software (e.g., MS Office, eBuilder, Procore, and ATSER) and peripheral equipment
  • Maintain and document vehicle preventative maintenance and mileage reports
Skills / Qualifications

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration Preferred
  • Experience in Human Resources, Payroll and/or Accounting Preferred
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Preferred Proficiency in use of Ebuilder and/or Atser.ย  Prior experience having performed above duties as an employee or consultant for a State Transportation Agency.

License / Certification Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must pass Health and Safety Training and Defensive Driving Courses before operating a company vehicle.

Machines, Tools and/or Equipment Used:

  • Pickup truck and/or other motor vehicle(s)
  • On occasion, office equipment such as photocopy machine and fax machine
  • Personal computer and software (e.g., MS Office, eBuilder, Procore, and ATSER)

Work Environment:

  • Will require work at Various Project Field Offices and possibly occasional work at Woods Savannah office
  • Will involve performing training in proper project documentation for all levels of inspector/engineers
