As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software and consumables is key. Applying your communication skills, creativity and can-do attitude is essential. The ability to help with solving customer problems and a commitment to deliver the highest levels of customer service is how you will build customer success.
This position will be focused primarily on GC and GCMS products. Prior experience preferred.
Your Role:
  • You will be responsible for supporting our customers with on-site installation, implementation, maintenance and repair of company and multi-vendor systems solutions. Our varied product lines include hardware, software and networking products as well as operating systems.
  • Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites.
  • Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance.
  • Proactively responds to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business.
  • Deliver fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems and applications software.
  • Train other field engineers and customers in the solutions.

Region covered: Greater Los Angeles area (LA, Orange, Ventura and Riverside Counties)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's Degree within the science field - e.g. chemistry, analytical chemistry biochemistry, biotechnology preferred
  • 1+ year of relevant experience in a service role or working with analytical chemistry instruments such as GC, GCMS preferred
  • Experience with troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Experience with the Agilent solutions is desired but not essential
  • Verbal and written communication is clear, respectful and timely
  • You enjoy travelling and visiting customers

Additional Details
This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least July 7, 2026 or until the job is no longer posted. In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.
The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $36.38 - $63.75/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
