We’re looking for a Bridge Inspection Team Leader to join our Transportation Group in Round Rock, Texas. This role is ideal for a bridge inspection professional who enjoys leading field teams, evaluating critical infrastructure, and collaborating with a highly specialized group of structural and transportation engineers. You’ll play an important role in delivering bridge inspection services that help keep transportation systems safe and reliable throughout Texas.

What You’ll Do

As a Bridge Inspection Team Leader, you’ll:

  • Lead bridge inspection teams on routine bridge inspection assignments.
  • Perform inspections and evaluations of in-service bridges in accordance with applicable inspection standards and requirements.
  • Develop detailed bridge inspection reports and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with or prepare bridge load rating calculations and associated reports.
  • Travel as needed to support bridge inspection projects throughout Texas.
  • Apply structural engineering principles to bridge inspection, evaluation, and rehabilitation projects.
  • Support transportation design projects and multidisciplinary teams as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards, inspection procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, clients, and project teams to deliver accurate and timely results.
What You Bring
  • 2+ years of bridge inspection experience.
  • Completion of NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges (130055/130056).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to quality.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for inspection assignments.
  • Ability to work outdoors and perform field inspections in varying environmental conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Structural or Transportation Engineering in Texas.
  • Load rating experience.
  • Bridge preservation experience.
  • Structural or transportation design experience.
  • Completion of NHI Bridge Inspection Techniques for Nonredundant Steel Tension Members (NSTM) (130078).
  • Completion of NHI Underwater Bridge Inspection (130091).
  • Completion of NHI Inspection of Ancillary Highway Structures (130087).
  • Residence in or willingness to relocate to the Round Rock/Austin area.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
  • Ability to access bridge components and perform inspections that may involve climbing, walking uneven terrain, or working at heights.
  • Ability to travel regularly to project sites throughout Texas.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment necessary to perform inspection duties.
