Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist - Needed to work with SPMI - Outpatient
  • Gateway, Rhode Island

Gateway Healthcare,an affiliated partner of Brown University Health, hasan opening for a board certified or eligible child and adolescent psychiatrist interested in working with patients with Severe Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI). This is a unique opportunity toprovide treatment, intervention,and prevention services to children and youth of all cultural and economic backgrounds with behavioral and substance abuse issues, through outpatient and community-based programs. As part member of the Division Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Human Behavior of the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, you will join a world-class program consisting of over 50 child and adolescent psychiatrists, 90 pediatric psychologists, and an academic and research enterprise designated an Institution of Emerging Excellence by the NIH. Choose to work in Johnston or Pawtucket, RI.Gateway Healthcare’s continuum of care places it at the forefront of behavioral health care for Rhode Islanders as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic.

About the job:
  • Primarily working in an outpatient clinic
  • Join a team of child & adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers
  • Conduct evaluations and provide ongoing treatment utilizing medication, with an opportunity to also provide individual and/or family therapy
  • Part of a continuum care program that includes inpatient, partial, residential, in home and outpatient services
  • Academic appointment to Brown University
  • Call from home <10 weeknights/year
  • 3-4 weekends per year inpatient rounding
