Job description

The Cleveland Museum of Art seeks a Security Supervisor who supervises and coordinates the activities of all on duty Gallery Guards and Night Watch Persons. The Security Supervisor monitors all protection services and environmental systems and reports unsafe conditions. She/He also supervises the protection and security of the facility, collection, staff and visitors.

  • Performs all control room operations, including monitoring cameras, alarms and fire systems; maintains an up-to-date and accurate log of activities; reports activity that requires Protection Services support or may have an impact on Protection Services operations.
  • Supervises Gallery Guards and Night Watch Persons for compliance of work rules, job performance, policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the assignment of Guards and assures adequate coverage of personnel within building zones according to coverage requirements; schedules lunches and breaks; distributes schedules and assignments to security officers.
  • Supervises and participates in protection services opening and closing procedures.
  • Assists with roll call when needed.
  • Required to fill-in when needed to maintain a proper level of security management in the building.
  • Responds to call from the on-duty Security Management Team to direct activities during unusual occurrences or as circumstances dictate.
  • Conducts formal and informal investigations of incidents, accidents, thefts and museum employee issues as directed by the Security Management Team.
  • Participates in the training of subordinates in protective procedures, first-aid, fire safety, etc.
  • Assumes gallery or post duties as necessary to cover lunch/break reliefs or as other circumstances dictate.
  • Writes reports concerning incidents, accidents, thefts or other security related events; documents appropriate incidences, including subordinate feedback; reports and submits incidents to Security Operations

Annual Salary: $50,000
