Job description

The purpose of the Logistics Coordinator position is to facilitate various activities that occur in the distribution or warehouse office and assist the office personnel in other capacities as required. In addition, this position will ensure all reporting requirements are met and aid in the shipment process as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Effectively execute duties that will lead to improved receipt of material in a timely and accurate basis.
  • Enable the logistics center or warehouse to staff, accordingly, including scheduling inbound receiving appointments.
  • Assist Professional Drivers as needed if applicable
  • Initiate and update daily logs
  • ⁠Responsible for updating the Shipping boards with trailer and Dock Door information, update available pick tasks, and make sure loaded outbound trailers are removed from doors and put into the yard and empty trailers (needed for future time slots) are placed into doors to be loaded.
  • Support Shipment Planners as needed (waving orders, web-routing, planning orders, etc.).
  • 3rd Party Shipment creation.
  • Manage pallet inventory and order as needed if applicable.
  • Reconcile CHEP pallet usage and balance on CHEP's website.
  • Print Value-Added Service labels for Customers as needed.
  • Update weekly performance reports / monthly individual performance reports / and employee report cards.
  • Develop and manage an accurate filing system for reports.
  • Maintain adequate supplies in the office and shipping areas.
  • Manage the Radio Frequency (RF) Scanner Maintenance.
  • Organize signed Bills of Lading.
  • Work with Supervisors to resolve problems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Daily decision making based on daily workload.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent customer service, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability and skills to document and record a high volume of information
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, with intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and/or the ability to learn
  • Knowledge of customer compliance programs.

Education/Experience
  • Diploma or GED Equivalency
  • Prior RF Unit experience, preferred
  • 2-4 years of Logistics, Distribution or Supply Chain management experience, preferred
