Job description

Peak Workforce Solutions (Newbold Services) is looking for experienced Furniture Painters for our facilities in High Point and Thomasville, NC.

Starting pay is $15.00, based on experience.

Hiring for immediate openings on all shifts

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sanding and preparing furniture and other surfaces for painting.
  • Mixing and preparing paint colors and stains according to customer specifications.
  • Applying paint, varnish, shellac, and other finishes to furniture and other surfaces using a pneumatic sprayer.
  • Repairing furniture components such as drawers and doors.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing painting equipment.
  • Moving furnishings, equipment and other obstacles to complete paint jobs, as needed.
  • Performing journey level painting of interior and exterior surfaces for protection and decoration by patching, texturing, priming, sanding and/or caulking.
  • Compliance with all OSHA regulations
  • Follow all safety rules and report any unsafe conditions
  • Properly use any personal protection equipment(PPE)

Requirements:

 

  • Experience with a pneumatic sprayer to paint furniture is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in furniture spraying and finishing techniques
  • Knowledge of different types of wood and how they react to various finishes
  • Ability to mix and apply stains, lacquers, and paints
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and proper handling of chemicals
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify and correct flaws in finish
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy furniture
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other team members
