Position Summary
The Traveling Painter is responsible for performing high-quality painting and surface preparation work across multiple job sites nationwide. This role is critical to delivering consistent workmanship and supporting efficient project execution in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
This role supports project-based and ongoing painting/coatings work across commercial and facilities environments.
This position requires a high level of flexibility and commitment, with frequent travel and extended time on the road. It offers strong opportunities for career growth into Lead Painter and Foreman roles.

Key Responsibilities
Painting amp; Surface Preparation
  • Perform interior and exterior commercial painting and coatings work
  • Prepare surfaces through washing, scraping, sanding, blasting, or other required methods
  • Mix and apply paints, coatings, epoxies, urethanes, and protective finishes
  • Execute work with attention to detail, quality, and durability

Jobsite Execution
  • Follow direction from Foreman or Lead Painter to complete assigned tasks
  • Work efficiently to meet production goals across multiple job sites
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas
  • Adapt to varying project scopes, conditions, and timelines

Travel amp; Field Work
  • Travel to job sites across multiple locations, typically staying 7–14 days per project
  • Work extended schedules, including potential night shifts as required
  • Represent FCP Services professionally while on the road

Safety amp; Compliance
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements
  • Use PPE and handle coatings and materials safely
  • Identify and communicate jobsite hazards promptly

Teamwork amp; Development
  • Work collaboratively with crew members and leadership
  • Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and a strong work ethic
  • Maintain a positive attitude in physically demanding and changing environments
  • Show willingness to learn new skills and grow within the company

Required Qualifications
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to travel extensively and be away from home for extended periods
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting 35–60 lbs regularly
  • Ability to follow direction and work effectively within a team

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial painting or coatings
  • Experience working on large-scale or multi-site commercial projects
  • Experience operating lifts such as scissor lifts or boom lifts
