Job description

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  High school education or trade school education with courses in woodworking or cabinet making or comparable experience as apprentice.

Experience:  Minimum four (4) years experience in woodworking industry with furniture finishing experience.  Upholstery repair experience desirable.

Other Requirements:  Ability to repair and finish furniture as required.  Requires good physical condition and ability to lift heavy objects.  May require holiday and weekend hours.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

To inspect and prepare furniture to be delivered to customer’s homes in accordance with company standards and procedures.  To provide after delivery service as necessary.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect all furniture in warehouse prior to delivery to customer’s home.
  • Repair, match and mix colors, and finish furniture as required prior to delivery to customer’s home.
  • Evaluate the damage on returned furniture.  Perform necessary functions to repair for redelivery to the customer.
  • Coordinate with the customer service manager to ensure furniture damage is properly documented.
  • Perform furniture repairs and touch-ups in customer’s home as the need arises.  
  • Assist with the proper storage of items and general housekeeping in specific work areas assigned.  
  • Assist with inventories and cycle counts when necessary.  
  • Comply with all safety regulations established by the company.  
  • Maintain adequate supplies for work materials.  Inform supervisor as the need arises for replenishment and stocking of work materials.  
  • Must be neat, clean, and in full uniform when visiting customers.  
  • Perform any other duties as required.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position ranges from  $24.00  to $29.00 , depending on experience.
