Fund Advisor

Fish Network

Cambridge, MA โ€ข Remote

$75K - $200K/yr

Full-time

Posted 5 days ago

Job description

Fund Advisor โ€“ Fish Network

Fish Network is building the infrastructure for the โ€œNeofundโ€ era, enabling emerging managers to launch compliant, on-chain investment clubs (โ€œFish Schoolsโ€) with built-in custody, governance, and capital formation rails

Fish Network is a compliant, Web3-enabled platform for collaborative investing in private markets. It transforms traditional investment clubs into structured, technology-enabled โ€œFish Schoolsโ€, community-driven investment vehicles that pool capital upfront and deploy it collectively

Unlike traditional crowdfunding portals that act purely as matchmakers (often resulting in poor deal quality and high issuer costs), Fish Network introduces structured coordination, expert-led diligence, and on-chain capital deployment

We are seeking a Fund Advisor to mentor and train emerging Fish School Organizers (solo GPs and investment club leaders) on how to structure, operate, and scale high-quality investment communities. Please note, this is a paid position. Compensation would depend on time commitment and experience.

You will work directly with emerging managers to help them refine their thesis, implement disciplined diligence processes, manage capital responsibly, coordinate voting mechanisms, and maintain investor trust through structured reporting and governance.

This role is ideal for someone who understands venture mechanics, fund operations, and capital formation โ€” and wants to shape the next generation of digitally native fund managers.

The Opportunity

You understand how capital is raised, deployed, and returned. Youโ€™ve seen what works and what breaks inside investment clubs, syndicates, and venture funds.

We are building a new generation of emerging fund managers. Many are first-time GPs launching investment clubs, angel syndicates, rolling funds, or micro-VCs. They have ambition and access but need structure, discipline, and operational excellence.

As a Fund Advisor, you will mentor and train multiple emerging managers on how to design, operate, and scale professional investment vehicles.

This is not a passive advisory role.
You will help build disciplined, high-performing fund operators.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor emerging fund managers on launching and structuring investment clubs and venture funds

  • Train managers on sourcing, screening, diligence, and IC process design

  • Help build portfolio construction frameworks and capital deployment pacing

  • Support managers with LP communication, reporting, and governance standards

  • Review investment memos and provide structured, actionable feedback

  • Provide frameworks for risk management and portfolio monitoring

  • Conduct workshops, office hours, and structured training sessions

  • Help managers refine LP decks and fundraising narratives

  • Monitor fund performance and identify operational improvements

  • Contribute to best-practice playbooks for early-stage fund operators

Experience / Qualifications
  • Experience in venture capital, angel investing, or fund operations

  • Direct exposure to launching or operating a syndicate, investment club, or venture fund

  • Strong understanding of fund economics (carry, management fees, reserves, DPI/TVPI)

  • Experience evaluating early-stage startups and writing or reviewing investment memos

  • Strong mentorship and communication skills

  • Ability to simplify complex fund mechanics for first-time managers

  • Experience building systems (CRM, reporting frameworks, diligence processes)

  • High ownership mindset and execution discipline

Preferred:

  • Experience as a GP, venture partner, or fund operator

  • Prior experience coaching founders or investors

  • Exposure to global emerging markets or first-time fund managers

Whatโ€™s In It For You
  • Work closely with ambitious emerging fund managers globally

  • Shape the next generation of venture operators

  • Flexible, remote-first structure

  • Competitive compensation (base + advisory structure)

  • Potential carried interest participation (where applicable)

  • High-leverage impact across multiple funds
