Sr. Test Engineer - Electrical Engineer
Position Summary:
Marotta Controls is seeking a test engineer to support the development and implementation of testing of electric motors. The applicant should have a strong background in Electrical Engineering with demonstrated skills in test methodology, data collection, test systems, data analysis, and thermal/stress analyses.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or similar is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in testing electromechanical assemblies.
  • Knowledgeable of electric motors, their components, and the equipment, processes and techniques for testing.
  • Familiar with test systems utilizing a Test Console, Interface Test Adapter (ITA), and/or mass interconnects.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, author, implement, and maintain acceptance test procedures for motor components and motor assemblies using internal and external specifications.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering on test tooling designs and fixtures for various in process and final tests.
  • Assist design validation efforts by creating and executing one off and limited duration testing processes.
  • Operate dynamic and static test equipment such as dynamometers, power analyzers, and thermal chambers to test motors.
  • Perform root cause analysis on failed components and assemblies.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot issues with test equipment.
  • Work with Design, Systems, and production engineering groups to ensure robust and optimized for production products.

Additional Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Experience with motors and motor control systems
  • Project planning, monitoring, and reporting

  • Ensure that work area(s) are clean, secure, and well maintained
  • Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required

Pay Range: $110,000 - $130,000 per year
This position is at our Chaska, MN office location.
