About the Role & Team:

Disney Sports hosts a wide range of amateur, youth, and professional sporting events each year at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Disney Sports Development helps bring these events to life through a combination of external client partnerships and Disney-owned events.

Working closely with partners across Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, the team helps ensure business objectives, operational priorities, and guest experience goals are thoughtfully addressed. Through strategic development, planning, and strong attention to detail, the team delivers a high-quality experience for every guest.

This is a full-time hourly role reporting to the Sports Business Development Team.

What You Will Do:

Assist in the strategic development, planning, and execution of both Disney-owned and third-party events at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. This role contributes to the growth of the Disney Sports business by helping identify new opportunities, enhance existing event offerings, and create memorable experiences for athletes, coaches, families, and fans.

You will work across a variety of projects that support business growth, event innovation, and guest experience enhancements, while collaborating with key internal partners across Marketing, Commercial Strategy, Event Management, Finance, Operations, and external organizations. From concept development and research to planning and on-site implementation, you will help turn ideas into impactful experiences.

The ideal candidate combines creativity, business acumen, analytical thinking, and strong project management skills with a passion for sports and guest experience.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Support strategic initiatives that drive growth and innovation across the Disney Sports business.

  • Assist in developing new event concepts, business opportunities, and guest experience enhancements.

  • Create presentations, business cases, and executive-facing materials to support planning and decision-making.

  • Conduct market research and competitive benchmarking to identify trends and opportunities.

  • Work effectively in a team environment while also managing individual responsibilities independently.

  • Analyze registration and event performance data to inform business and event strategies.

  • Maintain event microsites, participant guides, and other guest-facing resources.

  • Support participant communications to deliver a seamless guest experience.

  • Support event planning initiatives and operational coordination, including venue management, room blocks, and key event logistics.

  • Support scheduling efforts for sports events as needed.

  • Provide hands-on event and guest support during Disney Sports events.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights.

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining focus on broader business goals.

  • Strong Microsoft Suites knowledge: Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.

  • Current valid U.S. driver's license.

  • Some driving required to and from Walt Disney Parks and Resorts locations and sometimes in a company vehicle.

  • Must have ability to adapt quickly and proactively to evolving events, and to thrive in an extremely fast-paced and high-pressure working environment.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting business strategy, development, or growth initiatives.

  • Experience identifying and evaluating new business opportunities through market research and data analysis.

  • Strong working knowledge of Zendesk, Smartsheet, Lightyear, Keynote and Adobe Creative Suite

Required Education:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience

Preferred Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Sports Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field

The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
