Position Overview

True North Medical Institute is seeking a motivated and skilled Sports Rehabilitation Physical Therapist (DPT) to join our exceptional team in Elko, Nevada. This full-time position is focused on providing high-quality physical therapy services to athletes and active individuals, with an emphasis on orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. Work Environment

This position is located onsite at our state-of-the-art clinic in Elko, which is designed to foster collaboration among healthcare providers and enhance the rehabilitation experience for our patients. The clinic features advanced rehabilitation technologies and resources including motion analysis systems and specialized exercise equipment which supports evidence-based practice. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough biomechanical evaluations and movement assessments to develop individualized rehabilitation plans for patients.

  • Utilize advanced manual therapy techniques and design progressive, evidence-based rehabilitation programs to optimize recovery.

  • Implement advanced return-to-play testing protocols and sport-specific training regimens, preparing athletes for safe and effective reintegration into their sports.

  • Collaborate closely with athletic trainers, orthopedic surgeons, and performance specialists to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

  • Provide comprehensive education regarding injury prevention, recovery strategies, and long-term mobility enhancement to empower our athletes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patients range from recreational fitness enthusiasts to elite athletes across various sports disciplines. This role requires a passion for sports medicine and a commitment to understanding the unique needs of each athlete. You will have the opportunity to treat individuals recovering from both acute and chronic sports-related injuries in an engaging and supportive environment.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a valid Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) license in Nevada or be eligible for licensure.

  • Demonstrate a strong passion for sports medicine, biomechanics, and evidence-based rehabilitation practices.

  • Experience in gym settings is vital, along with the ability to seamlessly transition athletes from rehabilitation to sport-readiness.

  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on creating a supportive and motivating atmosphere for patients.

  • Familiarity with modalities including blood flow restriction training, dry needling, and advanced monitoring tools (e.g., force plates, motion capture systems).

Preferred Experience
  • Board certification as a Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) or Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) is highly desirable.

  • Experience in athletic training or rehabilitation within collegiate or professional sports settings is preferred.
