Partial Sleep Overnights | Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Harry Meyering Center is a non-profit focused on supporting developmentally disabled individuals in the community with a person-centered way of thinking. 
Job Purpose: 
Make a meaningful difference while the world sleeps. As a Direct Support Professional – Partial Sleep Overnights at Harry Meyering Center, you’ll provide reassuring overnight support to individuals with disabilities, helping ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. You’ll assist with evening and nighttime routines, monitor wellness through the night, and step in when support is needed. This role includes designated sleep time for staff, with the opportunity to respond to emergencies or medical needs as they arise. You’ll work in individuals’ homes and within the community, building trusted relationships through respect, dignity, and person‑centered care.
Schedule: Full-time, 30 to 40 hours per week including every other weekend, 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
Wage: $15.00 per hour

What You’ll do:
  • Build positive, respectful relationships by providing thoughtful supervision and support while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Assist individuals with personal care needs in a compassionate, dignity‑focused way.
  • Encourage participation in enjoyable activities at home and in the community, supporting overall wellness and healthy living.
  • Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe home environment for both individuals and staff.
  • Accurately complete documentation and follow established systems, routines, and individualized support plans.
  • Participate in staff meetings and complete all required training to grow your skills and stay informed.
  • Protect privacy by following HIPAA guidelines in all written and verbal communication.
  • Follow all health and safety policies to ensure a secure environment.
  • Support the team with additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or general education degree. 
  • Must hold a valid United States driver's license and pass a driving record check conducted by our insurance carrier unless otherwise noted.
  • Prior experience or training is not required, but it is preferred to have experience as a CNA, PCA, Caregiver, DSP, or healthcare-related professional.  
  • Must pass the MN Department of Human Services Background Study
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to complete daily direct care such as bathing, toileting, feeding, and changing.
  • Ability to do household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
