We are currently seeking a Telecommunications Subject Matter Expert with 10+ years of experience to join our team and fully embrace our commitment to deliver, grow and thrive.
About the Role:
As a Telecommunications Subject Matter Expert, you will provide expert technical support for a state-of-the-art 5G wireless telecommunications laboratory supporting a nationwide public safety broadband network. Your work will focus on lab equipment operation and maintenance, test plan execution, documentation, and safety compliance to ensure the lab functions as a reliable platform for network evaluation and innovation.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Develop and maintain lab documentation including cabling diagrams, lab connectivity configurations, and user manuals to document the function and interconnection of the various assemblies and troubleshoot lab system issues.
  • Complete review of test plans and test data and make recommendations for project, program, and process improvements.
  • Provide and maintain detailed documentation of analyses and process steps for audit purposes; support safety audit requirements of the telecommunications lab in Boulder, Colorado.
  • Support capital management and inventory requirements of lab equipment, including calibration support and lifecycle tracking.
  • Set up and operate cellular lab test equipment including RF spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and audio quality test platforms in support of wireless telecommunications testing activities.
  • Support wireless telecommunications test bench setup, test case execution, data collection, and troubleshooting.
  • Apply knowledge of wireless telecommunications equipment interconnection - including Remote Radio Head Units, Baseband Units, and Cell Site Routers - to support lab configuration and issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with Telecommunications Industry Association grounding and bonding standards (TIA-607-B) and applicable lab safety protocols.
  • Support construction, maintenance, and configuration of 4G and 5G cellular equipment within the lab environment.
  • Collaborate with program staff, engineers, and stakeholders to clarify lab requirements, present findings, and support technical decision making.

Location:
You will work as part of a dynamic team in the Boulder, Colorado area. You will work at the client site dependent on contract requirements.
Required Experience/Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 10+ years' experience supporting the construction and/or maintenance of 4G and 5G cellular equipment in an operator network or in a state-of-the-art 5G wireless telecommunications laboratory.
  • Familiarity with the interconnection of wireless telecommunications equipment such as Remote Radio Head Units (RRHs), Baseband Units (BBUs), and Cell Site Routers (CSRs).
  • Experience with wireless telecommunications test bench setup, test case execution, data collection, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment maintenance, calibration support, and capital management inventory of lab equipment.
  • Experience with the operation of cellular lab test equipment including RF spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and audio quality test platforms.
  • Experience with the safety audit process of wireless telecommunications laboratories.
  • Experience with Telecommunications Industry Association grounding and bonding standards TIA-607-B.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to develop technical reports, documentation, and management-ready presentations.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with a range of stakeholders, including government personnel, subject matter experts, and task managers, to clarify requirements, present findings, and support program and project decision making.

Preferred Experience/Skills:
  • Experience supporting federal government clients or mission-critical public safety broadband programs in a laboratory or field environment.
