Job description

The Dogs and Cats Emergency & Specialty in Bowie, MD is hiring a full- time Veterinary Technician to join our emergency team on the overnight shift!
Compensation: $23-29/hr
Schedule:
  • 3/ 12- Hour Shifts per week
  • Overnights
  • Weekends, Holidays, and On- Call as needed

Job Requirements:
  • Shares our commitment to our mission, vision, and values.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician
  • Demonstrated excellence in nursing care and critical thinking skills
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in the role.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
Required Skills:
  • Proficient in calculating doses and administering intravenous drugs and fluids
  • Capable of monitoring patients under anesthesia (ventilator experience is a plus!)
  • Skilled in obtaining and analyzing laboratory samples (blood, urine, and stool)
  • Expertise in interpreting meows, barks, and chirps-telepathic skills are a plus!
  • Experience in catheter placement
  • Possesses the stamina of an athlete to keep up with lively kitties and energetic puppies
  • Strong time management, initiative, and task prioritization skills
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Compensation is based on experience and skill level ranging from $23.00 - 29.00
  • Overnight shift differential offered!
