Business at Davis is thriving! Sales are up, so we are actively seeking new team members to meet the continually growing demand.
The Upholsterer is responsible for applying fabric, leather, or other materials to chair components, ensuring a high-quality, durable, and visually appealing finished product. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and skill in fabric handling, cutting, and attachment.
Requirements
Responsibilities
  • Cut and attach fabric, leather, or synthetic materials to chair seats, backs, and armrests
  • Assemble upholstered components and attach them securely to chair frames
  • Stretch and fit materials smoothly to ensure a clean, finished appearance
  • Use hand tools, staples, tacks, and pneumatic tools safely and effectively
  • Inspect materials for defects prior to and during assembly
  • Repair or replace damaged or defective upholstery components
  • Follow work instructions, blueprints, and quality specifications
  • Collaborate with other production team members to maintain workflow and production targets
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE
  • Any other duties assigned

Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous upholstery or furniture manufacturing experience required
  • Skilled in fabric handling, cutting, and fastening
  • Ability to read work instructions, measurements, and simple diagrams
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
