Job description


The Engineer Apprentice supports the hotel's Engineering Department by assisting with the monitoring, maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems throughout the property. This role is designed for individuals developing their technical skills while contributing to the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all hotel facilities and equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor, maintain, repair and carry out the maintenance programs on the hotel's support equipment including but not limited to boilers, cooling towers, pumps, compressors, domestic water systems, water testing, HVAC, deli equipment and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain, repair and install appliances throughout the facility to ensure safe and proper operation.
  • Maintain, repair and install electrical equipment throughout the facility to ensure safe and proper operation.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job function
  • Report all deficiencies and items that cannot be readily repaired to Supervisor
  • Due to the cyclic nature of the business the individual may be required to do other duties and special projects as assigned by Leadership.

Qualifications
  • Prefer prior exposure to some plumbing, electrical, plant, pool, kitchen, and air conditioning maintenance.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as technical journals, policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions and other related documents.
  • Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.
  • Assists and/or shadows engineering staff in repairs.
  • Must read, write, speak and understand English.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
