As we continue to grow across multiple markets, we are looking for an experienced Fiber Splicing Manager to lead fiber splicing operations, drive quality and productivity, and support the successful delivery of large-scale fiber construction projects.

Position Overview

The Fiber Splicing Manager is responsible for overseeing all fiber splicing operations across assigned projects. This role provides leadership to fiber splicing teams and subcontractors while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with customer and company standards.

This position combines technical expertise, operational leadership, quality control, and project coordination to ensure successful project execution across multiple markets.

What You'll DoLeadership & Operations
  • Lead, mentor, and develop fiber splicing teams.
  • Manage subcontractors and field resources to ensure project success.
  • Plan, assign, and monitor daily production activities.
  • Drive accountability, productivity, quality, and safety performance.
  • Support recruiting, training, and performance management efforts.
Fiber Splicing & Technical Oversight
  • Provide expert-level technical guidance on fiber splicing operations.
  • Review and validate OTDR and power meter test results.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex fiber network issues.
  • Support emergency restoration efforts and critical outage response when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific fiber standards and requirements.
Project Coordination
  • Partner closely with Project Managers to support project schedules and deliverables.
  • Track production, labor utilization, and material usage.
  • Provide daily progress updates and completion forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, as-builts, splice records, photos, and quality control reports.
  • Ensure customer deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
Safety & Compliance
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all projects.
  • Enforce OSHA standards and company safety requirements.
  • Conduct routine field audits and job-site inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with operational, customer, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • 5+ years of fiber optic splicing experience.
  • Previous leadership experience managing fiber crews, subcontractors, or field teams.
  • Strong understanding of fiber network construction and deployment.
  • Experience with:
    • OTDR testing
    • Power meter testing
    • Fiber troubleshooting
    • Fiber schematics and splice diagrams
    • As-built documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret construction prints and network documentation.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
  • FOA CFOT or equivalent Fiber Certification.
  • Bucket Truck Certification.
  • Confined Space Training.
  • First Aid / CPR Certification.
  • Experience with Fieldwire or similar field management platforms.

Travel Requirements

This position requires travel based on project needs and market demands. Travel may range from approximately 10% to 50% throughout the year.

Physical Requirements

This role requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions, walking active construction sites, and occasionally lifting up to 60 pounds.
