Administering Spravato (esketamine) in a full-time outpatient setting involves unique challenges, such as ensuring strict adherence to REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) protocols and closely monitoring patients during and after treatment for potential side effects like dissociation or elevated blood pressure. Clinicians must also coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, maintain clear communication with patients and caregivers, and manage detailed documentation for regulatory compliance. Additionally, balancing patient flow and providing a supportive environment during observation periods are key responsibilities that require strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
