Job description

Position Overview

We are actively seeking a dedicated and passionate Sports Physical Therapist (DPT) to join our thriving Orthopedic & Sports Outpatient Clinic located in the vibrant city of Carson City, Nevada. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in assisting athletes of all levels—ranging from recreational weekend warriors to competitive professionals—in their journey to recovery and optimal performance. This role focuses on providing comprehensive rehabilitation services in an engaging onsite environment.

About the Organization

True North Medical Institute is renowned for its commitment to integrating sports science with exceptional clinical practices. Our clinic fosters an environment where practitioners are empowered to utilize evidence-based methodologies to enhance athletic performance and ensure effective recovery from injuries. We are a passionate team of healthcare professionals dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our community.

Work Environment

The clinic is designed to provide a dynamic rehabilitation experience, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and advanced sports technology. Our team-oriented environment encourages collaboration and continual learning. Operating Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, you will work onsite alongside a diverse team of orthopedic specialists, athletic trainers, and physical therapy experts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed biomechanical evaluations and movement assessments to identify functional deficits and develop individualized rehabilitation programs.
  • Implement manual therapy techniques and craft progressive, evidence-based rehabilitation strategies tailored to each athlete’s needs.
  • Perform advanced return-to-play testing and sport-specific training to ensure athletes are ready for competition.
  • Engage in daily collaboration with athletic trainers, orthopedic physicians, and sports performance specialists to enhance patient care.
  • Provide education and support for athletes regarding injury prevention, recovery protocols, and long-term mobility maintenance.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on active individuals seeking help with sports injuries and rehabilitation. You'll be working with a diverse clientele, including youth and adult athletes, thus allowing you to tailor your approach based on varying levels of physical capability and rehabilitation goals. This role is defined by your commitment to helping patients achieve their highest potential and return to their respective sports and activities safely.

Qualifications
  • A licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in Nevada or currently eligible for licensure.
  • A strong passion for sports medicine, biomechanics, and evidence-driven rehabilitation practices.
  • Demonstrated skills in manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and functional performance training.
  • Excellent communication skills complemented by an athlete-first approach to patient care.
  • Experience in both rehabilitation and return-to-sport environments.
Preferred Experience
  • Possession of advanced certifications such as Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) or Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS).
  • A background in athletic training or experience within collegiate or professional sports rehabilitation settings.
  • Knowledge of specialized techniques including blood flow restriction training, dry needling, and the use of sports-tech tools such as force plates and motion capture systems.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 annually, along with performance incentives that recognize and reward your contributions. Additional benefits include comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, a robust 401(k) matching plan, continuing education allowances, and access to in-house mentorship programs and specialized sports workshops. We also provide generous paid time off, holidays, and flexible work arrangements to promote a healthy work-life balance, along with complimentary access to our gym and training facilities for personal use.

Career Growth Opportunities

At True North Medical Institute, we are committed to your professional development. You will have numerous opportunities to advance your skills through ongoing education and training workshops, exposure to cutting-edge rehabilitation techniques, and participation in interdisciplinary team meetings that focus on the latest advancements in sports medicine and rehabilitation.

Why Join Our Team

This is your opportunity to immerse yourself in a fulfilling role that directly impacts the lives of active individuals. You will be part of a supportive team environment that fosters growth, challenge, and innovation. Whether working with high school athletes, those who engage in recreational sports, or elite performers, your clinical expertise will contribute to enhancing performance and facilitating recovery, truly making a difference in our patients' lives. Join us at True North Medical Institute, where your passion for sports therapy aligns with a mission to maximize athletic potential and ensure a healthier, active community.
