Department of Educational Psychology & Learning Systems | Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences
Responsibilities
The candidate will be expected to serve on doctoral committees and supervise student research, in addition to teaching and providing service to the program, department, college, and university. Candidates are also responsible for developing a program of research and scholarly activity in the realm of sport psychology.
Qualifications
Candidates for this position should have an earned doctorate from a recognized doctoral program in Sport Psychology or a closely related field (e.g., Kinesiology, Exercise Science).
Preferred Qualifications
Prior tenure-track experience and demonstrated potential or proven success in securing external research funding are highly desirable. Prior experience mentoring doctoral students is also preferred.
Other Information
The program is seeking a candidate with clearly expressed interest in sport psychology research and professional issues. The successful candidate will demonstrate an aptitude for conducting research, teaching, and mentoring graduate students, as well as a commitment to both the Sport Psychology MS and PhD programs. We are seeking a candidate who will contribute to strengthening program quality and student recruitment. The successful candidate will also demonstrate skills related to the quality teaching of sport psychology courses. This top-ranked program has a vibrant Sport Psychology Lab and connections to the Institute of Sport Science and Medicine (ISSM) .
The roots of FSU's Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences date back to the university's establishment, and it is the oldest college of its kind in Florida. The College is home to six academic departments united through a common goal to maximize human potential. In total, the College includes the Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Studies, Department of Educational Psychology & Learning Systems, Department of Human Development & Family Sciences, Department of Health, Nutrition & Food Sciences, Department of Sport Management, School of Teacher Education, numerous research centers, and three laboratory schools (Florida State University School, FSU Pembroke Pines Charter School, and The Collegiate School at FSU Panama City). Anne's College serves over 4,000 students via approximately 200 full-time faculty and nearly 80 full-time staff.
