Sensors: Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Software Engineer I [Embedded / Radar] to be part of their product development team for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group.

What You Will Do:

  • Work on technical problems and provide innovative solutions, with guidance as needed.

  • Work at all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration

  • Develop RT embedded SW, specifically pertaining to various radar modes and capabilities.

  • Utilize investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and develop solutions.

  • Work with teams across multiple disciplines, internal and external

  • Join program and customer meetings/reviews

  • Support the team leads as needed regarding technical decision making, problem resolution.

  • Help to ensure performance to technical, cost, schedule, quality.

  • Support of system and software requirements and architecture generation and analysis as needed.

  • Work Location: Onsite at our El Segundo, CA Campus

  • Must be able to obtain "special access programs" (SAP/SAR) for continuation of employment.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred.

  • A minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in embedded software development

  • Development experience coding in C/C++/ADA or related languages/tools in radar-development software is required.

  • Experience working on UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or other RTOS

  • Experience working in an agile/scrum team hyper-collaborative team environment using typical agile oriented tool suite.

  • Introductory Experience with design, code, integration, and test of software into a large software baseline and large system

  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain DoD Secret Clearance; US Citizenship is mandatory to acquire and maintain Security clearances.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Current DoD Secret and Top Secret Clearance

  • Experience developing Radar Software applications

  • Direct experience with Agile methodologies.

  • Analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot tool and system operation performance issues.

  • Experience with large complex systems such as airborne radars.

The salary range for this role is 62,900 USD - 119,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
