We are seeking a hands-on Controls & Automation Engineer to support, troubleshoot, and improve automated manufacturing processes within a foundry production environment. This role will be responsible for PLC programming, industrial controls, automation systems, electrical troubleshooting, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize equipment reliability, safety, and production efficiency. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced industrial setting, working closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and production teams to diagnose issues, implement automation solutions, and drive operational excellence across foundry manufacturing processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 

  • ย Provide additional technical capacity to support complex problem-solving efforts, accelerate issue resolution, and enhance overall team effectiveness.
  • Increase team bandwidth by proactively managing priorities, addressing outstanding workstreams, and ensuring critical tasks and deliverables remain visible and on track.
  • Contribute specialized knowledge and technical expertise while serving as a mentor to Associate Engineers, supporting skill development, knowledge transfer, and long-term team growth.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Associate's OR Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience OR
  • No Degree AND 7+ years

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Allen-Bradley PLC programming
  • HMI programming
  • Fanuc robotic programming
  • Control systems engineering knowledge
  • Functional machine safety design, implementation, and integration

SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Communication, Critical thinking, and Collaboration skills
