Job description

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a skilled Slitter Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Slitter Operator will be responsible for operating slitter and related machinery to accurately cut and process materials while maintaining production quality and efficiency. The ideal Slitter Operator is safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and monitor slitting machines to cut steel coil stock according to customer specifications.
  • Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and proper machine setup.
  • Perform tooling adjustments and machine calibration to maintain quality standards.
  • Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Maintain safety protocols by following all company standards and production procedures.
  • Prepare and assemble production documentation and reports.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues, perform basic maintenance, and coordinate with maintenance personnel when necessary.
  • Document production data accurately and ensure compliance with quality control procedures.
  • Assist with material handling using forklifts or cranes when required for loading and unloading raw materials or finished products.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience operating roll slitters, press brakes, plasma cutters, press brakes, machining, or similar manufacturing equipment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of slitting machines, machining tools, and the ability to interpret technical drawings is highly desirable.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude combined with the ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other inspection instruments.
  • Understanding of manufacturing safety standards and quality procedures.
  • Prior experience with quality inspection techniques and the use of hand tools or lifting equipment is a plus.
  • Experience working with CNC machinery or machining tools in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift materials, stand for extended periods, and work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to producing quality work.
