Senior Accounting Clerk

Campbell, CA | Full-Time | Onsite | Pay Range: $32.00-$38.00 per hour

We are a small construction office in Campbell seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone with at least 3 years of hands-on experience using Sage 100 Contractor who can work accurately, manage multiple priorities, and help keep project and company financial records organized and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

· Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time.

· Enter invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries in Sage 100 Contractor.

· Maintain job cost records, cost codes, and supporting documentation for construction projects.

· Assist with billing, collections, lien releases, and vendor statement reconciliations.

· Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations and help resolve discrepancies.

· Support payroll processing, timecard review, and related recordkeeping.

· Assist with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reports.

· Maintain organized files and provide documentation for audits, insurance, and compliance needs.

· Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, project managers, and internal staff regarding accounting items.

· Help improve accounting procedures and maintain accuracy across daily transactions.

Qualifications

· Minimum 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in a construction or project-based environment.

· Required: 3-years hands-on experience with Sage 100 Contractor.

· Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and job costing.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general office software.

· Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.

· Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Associate degree in Accounting or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
