  • You must also have direct, hands-on construction accounting experience personally preparing WIP, performing job costing, processing payroll, handling progress billing, completing reconciliations, and performing month-end close.
  • Experience with other construction accounting systems may be valuable, but it does not replace the Sage 100 Contractor requirement.
What You'll Do
  • Manage day-to-day accounting for multiple construction clients
  • Personally process payroll from start to finish directly in Sage 100 Contractor, including payroll posting and related payroll tax and filing responsibilities
  • Perform bank reconciliations, sales tax filings, month-end close, and billing support
  • Prepare and maintain job costing and WIP schedules
  • Support progress billing, AP, AR, audit, and year-end accounting needs
  • Work directly in Sage 100 Contractor supporting ongoing client accounting workflows
  • Maintain accurate records and a clean audit trail across client work
  • Identify and resolve accounting issues independently when possible
  • Manage multiple client deadlines and competing priorities
  • Communicate clearly with clients and follow through on commitments
What You Bring
  • Recent, hands-on Sage 100 Contractor experience
  • Ability to work independently in Sage 100 Contractor with only a brief refresher
  • Strong, recent construction accounting experience
  • Hands-on experience personally preparing and maintaining WIP schedules, including percentage complete, estimated cost to complete, and over/underbillings
  • Hands-on job costing experience, including cost codes and labor, material, and subcontractor cost tracking
  • Hands-on progress billing experience
  • Experience personally processing payroll from start to finish directly in Sage 100 Contractor
  • Hands-on multi-state payroll experience, including familiarity with differing state payroll tax and compliance requirements
  • Union payroll and/or prevailing wage payroll experience
  • Strong month-end close experience
  • Hands-on AP, AR, journal entry, and reconciliation experience
  • Ability to manage accounting responsibilities, deadlines, and competing priorities across multiple clients
  • Comfort communicating directly with clients about day-to-day accounting questions and needs
  • Strong organization, accuracy, and follow-through
  • Ability to step into an existing Sage 100 Contractor client environment and contribute independently with only a brief refresher
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Deep and recent Sage 100 Contractor experience
  • Experience supporting multiple construction companies, entities, or clients
  • Certified payroll experience
  • AIA billing or pay application experience
  • Experience supporting audits and year-end accounting
  • Ability to explain accounting concepts clearly to non-accountants
What Success Looks Like
  • Clients trust your accuracy and responsiveness
  • Deadlines are met across your client portfolio
  • Books are clean, reconciled, and audit-ready
  • WIP and job costing information is accurate and supported by the accounting
  • Payroll and filings are accurate and on time
  • Clients rely on you as their go-to resource for day-to-day accounting support
How We Work
  • High autonomy with accountability to deadlines and client commitments
  • Strong internal support from leadership, IT, and business applications
  • No ego, no drama: we show up, do the work, and support each other
  • Teaching mindset: we help clients improve, not just complete tasks
