Job description

We’re seeking highly dependable and professional Armed Security Officer - Transit to protect the RTD transit system across the Denver metro area. In this role, you will play a vital part in safeguarding passengers, employees, and property throughout bus routes, light rail stations, and major transit hubs.

Location: Denver, CO

Pay: $25.00 an hour

Schedule: Flexible schedule necessary

Qualifications: Candidates must meet one of the following: 2 years of law enforcement experience, 1 year of active-duty military service, or 1 year of corrections experience. In lieu of this, candidates may qualify with 7 years of unarmed security experience, 3 years of armed security experience, or a minimum of 60 college credit hours.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with security or law enforcement backgrounds who are looking to advance their skills in a dynamic, public-facing environment. Success in this role requires the ability to remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively, and respond quickly to emerging situations. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal and de-escalation skills, reliable attendance, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Structured pay progression opportunities tied to performance and tenure.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry specific security/safety training programs
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
