Responsibilities
Job Specific Details and Tasks: The duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Registered Nurses in the urgent care clinic provide ambulatory and episodic care, supporting rapid assessment, treatment, and stabilization of patients presenting with acute illnesses or injuries. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Performing patient intake, triage, and initial clinical assessments
  • Conducting focused nursing assessments and documenting subjective and objective findings
  • Providing nursing care for acute, non-life-threatening conditions in accordance with standing orders and clinical protocols
  • Assisting providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments • Administering medications and treatments via approved routes (oral, IM, IV, subcutaneous, topical, etc.)
  • Performing wound care, splinting, vital sign monitoring, EKGs, and point-of-care testing
  • Collecting laboratory specimens and ensuring proper handling and processing
  • Identifying conditions requiring escalation and coordinating referrals or higher levels of care
  • Responding to medical emergencies and assisting with stabilization and transfer as required
  • Supporting occupational health services, including pre-employment exams, surveillance exams, and return-to-work evaluations as applicable
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
  • Supporting clinic operations, infection control practices, and quality improvement activities.
Days/Hours of Operation
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Proficiency in urgent care nursing procedures and patient assessment
  • Ability to operate clinical equipment and diagnostic tools
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of privacy and confidentiality requirements (HIPAA, Privacy Act, PII)
  • Ability to respond appropriately to emergent situations
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited associate, baccalaureate, or graduate nursing program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience as a licensed Registered Nurse in an urgent care, emergency department, ambulatory clinic, or comparable clinical setting.
  • Experience in occupational health, emergency care, or federal clinical environments is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
    • Additional certifications (e.g., ACLS, emergency or occupational health credentials) preferred but not required
