Job description

Salary: $40-$45 per hour

Position Overview

UHSP is seeking a compassionate, detail-orientedFull-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at our office located at 611 Division Ave NE, Washington, DC. The RN will play a key role in supporting our Mental Health Rehabilitation Services (MHRS) program and providing high-quality, trauma-informed care to our clients.

The ideal candidate has experience working in an MHRS setting, is comfortable performing blood draws and collecting lab samples, and thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to clients in an MHRS setting, following established care plans and clinical protocols.
  • Perform venipuncture (blood draws) and collect, label, and process lab samples in accordance with clinical and safety standards.
  • Complete nursing assessments, including physical health screenings, vital signs, and medication reviews.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, and other team members to support integrated behavioral and physical health care.
  • Administer and monitor medications, noting and reporting side effects or adverse reactions per policy.
  • Document all services and client interactions in the electronic health record (EHR) accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in treatment planning and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Educate clients and families on medications, health conditions, and wellness strategies.
  • Support compliance with regulatory and payer requirements, including MHRS standards and internal policies.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional clinical environment and follow all infection control and safety protocols.


Qualifications

  • Current, active RN license in the District of Columbia (DC) required.
  • Experience working in an MHRS or community behavioral health setting strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated competence in blood draws and lab specimen collection/handling.
  • Experience working with adults and/or youth with mental health and co-occurring conditions preferred.
  • Strong documentation skills and familiarity with EHR systems.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on-site, MondayFriday at 611 Division Ave NE, Washington, DC.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification preferred.
