  • Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.

Responsibilities

The Trauma Program Coordinator RN is responsible for the coordination of the trauma program, ensuring quality care for trauma patients, and meeting regulatory requirements. This includes coordinating trauma services, collecting and submitting data, ensuring compliance with trauma center standards, and supporting quality improvement initiatives. The coordinator also provides education to staff, assists with trauma center verification, and ensures optimal patient outcomes.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Education required to obtain Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.

  • Current RN license in the state of Texas.

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification.

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) Certification.

  • CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse), TCRN (Trauma Certified Registered Nurse), or equivalent certification required within 1 year of hire.

  • TOPIC (Trauma Outcomes & Performance Improvement Course) or TCCC (Trauma Coordinators Core Course) required within 1 year of hire.

  • Trauma AIS class within 1 year of hire. 
  • 3+ years of clinical nursing experience.

Preferred:

  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).

  • TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) or ATCN (Advanced Trauma Course for Nurses) Certification.
  • ATS (American Trauma Society) membership.

  • Familiarity with data abstraction for accreditation programs and national databases.

  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and trauma data abstraction tools.

  • Previous experience in trauma program.
