Position Overview

Mercy Vale Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. This full-time, remote position empowers you to profoundly impact the mental health and well-being of clients from the comfort of your home or office. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clients to determine their mental health status, developing personalized treatment plans based on individual needs.
  • Provide individual and group therapy, employing a variety of therapeutic modalities, with a focus on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based approaches.
  • Regularly follow up with clients, tracking their progress and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to optimize care.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive clinical documentation within our electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, providing referrals and resources as needed to support comprehensive client care.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay current with best practices in mental health treatment and share insights with colleagues.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse array of clients, including individuals experiencing substance abuse issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, and eating disorders. Your role is crucial in providing culturally competent care, as many of our clients come from varied backgrounds and life experiences. Understanding and addressing the unique needs of each client will be vital to fostering trust and promoting successful therapeutic outcomes.

Qualifications
  • A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid license in the state of Tennessee as an LMFT, LPC/MHSP, LPC, or LCSW.
  • At least four years of relevant experience in mental health counseling.
  • Proficient knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and best practices in therapeutic settings.
  • Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to establish rapport with clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems and other relevant technology.
  • A commitment to upholding professional ethics, confidentiality, and maintaining appropriate therapeutic boundaries.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing culturally responsive therapy to a range of populations, including underserved communities.
  • Previous involvement in professional development or continued education initiatives, showcasing a commitment to lifelong learning in the mental health field.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance client care.
