Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through engaging preliminary interviews and thorough assessments to determine client needs and develop tailored intervention strategies.
  • Create detailed and personalized treatment plans that address the unique challenges faced by individuals, couples, families, and groups, emphasizing the clientโ€™s strengths and fostering resilience.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities to encourage client growth and recovery.
  • Monitor client progress throughout treatment, making necessary adjustments to intervention strategies and ensuring goals are being met effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, primary healthcare providers, social workers, and other specialists to craft holistic treatment plans and manage referrals as needed.
  • Engage in proactive follow-up with clients admitted to hospitals, ensuring continuity of care and seamless transitions between different levels of mental health support.
  • Educate clients and their families about mental health and behavior management, equipping them with tools and strategies to enhance their understanding and cope more effectively with challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with a varied population, addressing mental health issues that range from anxiety and depression to more complex psychological disorders. Our clients include children, adolescents, adults, and families seeking compassionate support. Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology.
  • Active licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Master Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.
  • A successful score on relevant national examinations such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Strong proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly experience with AVATAR or similar platforms.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, allowing for effective client engagement and detailed case documentation.
Preferred Experience
  • Demonstrated experience working as a mental health counselor, particularly in outpatient settings.
  • Proven understanding of co-occurring physical and mental health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.
  • Familiarity with American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical guidelines.
  • A sound understanding of psychotropic medications and their interaction with therapeutic practices.
  • Empathy and interpersonal skills that facilitate supportive relationships with clients and families.
