Job Summary

The IT Senior Business Analyst serves as a liaison between business areas and information technology, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality business solutions. This role leads the analysis, documentation, and management of business requirements throughout project lifecycles, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical implementation. Adhering to the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), the analyst collaborates with leadership to understand business strategy and communicates direction to IT staff.

What you'll do

  • Lead the analysis, documentation, and management of business requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ensure technical teams fully understand business requirements before solution design and implementation.

  • Work closely with executive management to align IT initiatives with business strategy.

  • Collaborate with other Senior Business Analysts to identify enterprise-wide business solutions.

  • Conduct business process re-engineering and improvement projects.

  • Utilize project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) to drive projects through Initiate, Plan, Execute, Close, and Monitor/Control phases.

  • Develop business cases using cost-benefit analysis for potential software solutions.

  • Conduct impact analysis of technology changes on business processes and existing systems.

  • Provide mentorship and training to junior and mid-level Business Analysts.

  • Participate in vendor user groups and industry forums to advocate for critical application functionalities.

  • Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure the system changes aligned with business needs.

What you need

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, process modeling, and requirements elicitation.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare data exchange.

  • Expertise in software development lifecycles and applying project management principles to lead large-scale initiatives.

  • Experience in defining test scenarios, conducting system impact analysis, and supporting Enterprise testing teams to verify system functionality.

  • Proficiency in Agile/Scrum and Waterfall delivery methods.

  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while leveraging strong problem-solving, research and analytical skills.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in a technology, business administration, healthcare administration-related field preferred.

  • Minimum of eight years in Information Technology or related fields.
