As a crucial part of our practice, you will help clients navigate their mental health challenges, empowering them to achieve their personal goals and improve their overall well-being.

About the Organization

Empathetic Therapy Services, based in Joliet, Illinois, is recognized for delivering a comprehensive range of mental health services to varied client populations. Our organization embodies a mission of compassion, offering support to individuals struggling with emotional and psychological challenges. We pride ourselves on our client-centered approach, ensuring that we actively listen and respond to the needs of those we serve, while fostering an inclusive environment for healing and growth.

This position offers the flexibility of a remote work setting through telehealth, allowing you to provide therapy from a comfortable and convenient environment of your choice. Our support systems ensure that all therapists have access to necessary technology and administrative guidelines, enabling you to focus on delivering high-quality care. We maintain regular virtual team meetings to promote collaboration, sharing of best practices, and ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to craft personalized treatment plans that reflect their individual needs, goals, and preferences.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to support client healing.
  • Facilitate education sessions for clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.

  • Advocate for clients and mental health awareness, actively working to reduce stigma in the community.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with individuals experiencing mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. Your compassionate support will be essential for vulnerable populations, which may include homeless individuals, domestic abuse survivors, and refugees. Understanding the unique challenges these groups face, you will provide tailored therapeutic interventions that address their complex needs and circumstances.

  • Demonstrated ability to build trusting and secure therapeutic relationships, showcasing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong capacity for empathy and a nonjudgmental approach toward clients’ experiences and struggles.
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills to balance client care and administrative responsibilities.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, prior experience with telehealth platforms and familiarity with evidence-based treatment methodologies is highly desired. Candidates with experience in addiction counseling or working with diverse populations are encouraged to apply.
