Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering comprehensive academic, professional, and personal counseling services to clients, focusing on their specific mental health needs.
  • Providing daily living support by assisting clients with meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking, while teaching essential skills to promote self-sufficiency.
  • Offering medication management, including reminders and assistance with timely refills, proper storage, and adherence monitoring as directed.
  • Coordinating transportation, including personal and agency vehicles, assisting clients in attending all medical appointments.
  • Ensuring proper management of household supplies necessary for client care and support.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of care, tailoring services to facilitate progress towards defined client goals while fostering satisfaction and engagement.
  • Adhering to all legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements pertaining to program delivery, including compliance with certifications and licensing.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure prompt communication and effective service coordination.
  • Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation, including client notes and mileage reports, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Observing and reporting on clientsโ€™ moods and behaviors, implementing safety protocols, and acting as a positive role model.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily involve serving a diverse group of individuals who come from various cultural backgrounds, each presenting unique challenges and strengths. You will assist clients in overcoming barriers to their mental health and well-being by implementing tailored strategies that respect their individuality and circumstances.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • A Masterโ€™s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • A valid license as an LCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMHC, or LMFT in California. Please note, applicants with an associateโ€™s license are not eligible due to billing restrictions.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, especially the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A strong capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple cases effectively.
  • The ability to work independently and self-direct your responsibilities.
Preferred Experience

While geriatric experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. We look for individuals who are motivated, passionate about mental health, and ready to make meaningful impacts in the lives of their clients.
