Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Radiology Front Desk receptionist plays a key role in ensuring efficient daily operations of the radiology department. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and referring providers, manages documentation, coordinates scheduling, supports staff workflow, and maintains a high standard of service to enhance the patient experience. Adaptability in work location and schedule is essential to meet departmental needs and patient volume.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Adapt work location and schedule based on departmental needs and patient volume.

  • Welcome and assist patients as they arrive, creating a positive and friendly atmosphere.

  • Address patient inquiries with professionalism and provide helpful information as needed.

  • Responsible for scheduling appointments, as well as performing patient check-in and check-out procedures.

  • Confirm patient appointments by phone; follow up on no-show patients and reschedule as appropriate.

  • Assist patients with scheduling transportation as needed.

  • Collect co-pays as required and provide accurate receipts/documentation.

  • Collect and make copies of patient identification, insurance cards, and any required documentation.

  • Ensure all administrative tasks, including Admin PARCS, are completed in a timely manner.

  • Ensure the proper closure of all visits by the end of each day.

  • Receive and verify incoming supplies; place items in designated storage areas.

  • Upload patient reports into the system and scan documents into patient charts as needed.

  • upload patient reports to ECW and provide them to referring providers in a timely manner.

  • Operate and navigate all radiology systems (e.g., PACS and RIS) with a clear understanding of workflow processes.

  • Burn CDs of imaging studies for patients upon request.

  • Provide exam-specific paperwork for patients to complete prior to procedures.

  • Communicate effectively with radiology staff and providers to coordinate patient care and workflow.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.

  • Adapt work location and schedule based on departmental needs and patient volume; responsible for scheduling appointments, as well as performing patient check-in and check-out procedures.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum 6 months of customer service experience
  • Beginner-level proficiency in using Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Familiarity with eCW is preferred.
