Position Overview

Four Winds Therapy is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Counselor to join our remote team. In this role, you will utilize a client-centered, empathetic approach while facilitating meaningful therapeutic processes and challenging clients appropriately. Work Environment

This full-time position allows for a flexible remote work setting, accommodating your schedule while ensuring you can maintain a work-life balance. As part of an outpatient office, you will interact with clients primarily through video telehealth platforms. Your work environment will be designed to support effective virtual therapy sessions, enabling you to create a confidential and therapeutic space for your clients to feel comfortable and secure.

Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Counselor at Four Winds Therapy, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans tailored to clients' needs.
  • Using de-escalation techniques to manage crisis situations effectively.
  • Collecting and maintaining patient data to monitor progress and refine treatment approaches.
  • Providing ongoing support and guidance while fostering an empowering and therapeutic relationship with clients.
  • Staying updated with the latest research and best practices in mental health care, including methods like CBT, DBT, and ACT.
  • Ensuring a safe, respectful, and compliant virtual environment that adheres to confidentiality and ethical standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population, including children, adolescents, and adults dealing with a range of mental health challenges. Your expertise in trauma-informed care will be essential in forming an appropriate therapeutic alliance and supporting each individualโ€™s unique journey. Additionally, an understanding of pediatric mental health care will be beneficial as many of our clients cover a broad developmental spectrum.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in psychology, counseling, or a closely related field.
  • Current licensure in Washington State as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or an LMHC Associate (LMHC-A).
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a behavioral or mental health setting.
    • Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities, particularly trauma-informed strategies, and evidence-based practices.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, supported by strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in documentation practices, utilizing healthcare technology to maintain patient information effectively.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experiences and skills would be advantageous in this role:

  • Hands-on experience in behavioral health integration counseling and familiarity with current psychedelic integration practices.
  • Previous involvement in pediatric mental health issues and an understanding of developmental considerations across the lifespan.
  • A personal background or lived experience that informs your understanding of mental health challenges.
Compensation and Benefits
