Job description

This position is located in the DEA, Financial Management Division, Office of Administration (FS), Fleet, Property, and Office Services Section (FSO), Office Services Unit (FSOS), Print Production Studio.
This position(s) primary purpose is to be responsible for a full range of printing service for DEA for a variety of products to include correspondence, newsletters, brochures, pamphlets, and reports.Qualifications:For more information on eligibility requirements see: DEA Employment Eligibility
Applicants must meet the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of the announcement. If you are qualifying based on education or if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcripts with your application.
Basic Qualification Requirements:
Education:
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- journalism, business administration, English composition, commerce, accounting, printing or printing engineering, graphic or commercial art, industrial engineering, or economics.
OR
Experience:
Examples such as,Determining specifications for the printing of manuscript, i.e., selection of typography, layout, composition, format, paper stock, and other printer's instructions. Negotiating or administering contracts for procurement of manuscript and illustrations, printing, binding and allied services, or printing stocks (paper, inks, etc.). Managing a printing plant that produces printing either for the government or private industry customers. Performing production control work in a large printing plant. Serving as a sales representative for a wide variety of printing equipment. Analyzing the price and cost of preparation and production of printing. Planning, estimating, and scheduling printing on a full-time basis for a variety of publications. (6) Performing substantive administrative support or policy functions directly related to publishing and printing program management or operations.

Applicants applying for the GS-07 must meet one of the following requirements:
A. Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-05 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Consulting with and advising customers on print products and specifications; 2) Assisting with maintenance of and contract records for equipment operations; and 3) Providing advice to project managers and coordinating officials on alternative printing techniques.

B. Education: One (1) full year of graduate level education that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work OR Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (SAA). In order to be creditable under this provision, SAA must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position and is based on: Class Standing: Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class, based on completed courses; Grade Point Average: applicants must have a grade point average of: 3.0 or higher: Based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; OR; 3.5 or higher: Based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; OR; Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society: Applicants can be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies.

C. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Applicants applying for the GS-09 must meet one of the following requirements:
A. Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-07 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Delivering final approval on customer print products and specifications; 2) Overseeing the maintenance of and contract records for equipment operations; and 3) Researching alternative printing techniques and advising project managers and coordinating officials on implementation.

B. Education: Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

C. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
