ARC is looking for a Full-time Print Production Operator - Small Format (Color) to help us continue providing the best employment experience for our employees and excellent service for our customers.
Description
The Print Production Operator receives, processes, and maintains orders for reprographic services, including bindery and wrapping for delivery. Responsibilities include reviewing and understanding work orders prior to starting each job to ensure accuracy and operating various equipment and machinery to meet exact customer specifications.
Production & Printing
  • Operate small-format digital color printers (Ricoh/Canon/Konica Minolta) to produce high-quality printed materials.
  • Set up print jobs by selecting correct media, color profiles, finishing requirements, and print settings.
  • Perform color calibration and adjustments to maintain consistent output quality.
  • Monitor print runs to ensure accuracy, color consistency, and proper registration.

File & Job Management
  • Review incoming files for completeness, resolution, bleed, and formatting issues.
  • Preflight digital files and make minor corrections (PDF adjustments, resizing, imposition).
  • Follow detailed work orders to ensure all customer specifications are met.
  • Track job progress and update internal systems accordingly.

Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Perform routine maintenance on small-format printers, including cleaning, replacing consumables, and calibrating.
  • Troubleshoot print quality issues such as streaking, color shifts, paper jams, and misfeeds.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to service technicians or management when needed.

Finishing & Bindery Support
  • Operate finishing equipment such as cutters, folders, binders, laminators, and booklet makers.
  • Trim, bind, laminate, and package printed materials according to job requirements.
  • Ensure final products meet ARC's quality standards before delivery or pickup.

Customer & Team Interaction
  • Work closely with CSR, Sales, and Production teams to clarify job details and resolve issues.
  • Provide feedback on job feasibility, timelines, and production challenges.
  • Assist walk-in customers with small print jobs when needed.

Quality & Workflow Management
  • Inspect output for defects, color accuracy, and finishing precision.
  • Maintain organized production areas and ensure materials and supplies are stocked.
  • Meet daily production goals while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Follow all safety and security procedures, especially when handling confidential documents.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 35-50 lbs (paper boxes, equipment supplies).
  • Frequent standing, bending, and walking in a production environment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
