Machine Operator - Hand Assembly / Repair - $17.05/hour - Day Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) - No Nights or Weekends
Machine Operator / Production Assembly Associate - First Shift - Full Time
Oakwood Veneer Company - Troy, MI
Oakwood Veneer Company is seeking a full-time Machine Operator / Production Assembly Associate to join our first-shift manufacturing team in Troy, Michigan. This is a stable, full-time opportunity in a clean production facility with daytime hours, no mandatory nights, and no required weekend work. We are looking for dependable individuals who enjoy hands-on manufacturing, detailed assembly work, and producing high-quality products as part of a team.
This position is a great fit for candidates with backgrounds in manufacturing, machine operation, production, hand assembly, warehouse operations, woodworking, repair work, or general labor. Experience working with wood veneer is not required-we provide paid, on-the-job training.
Job Duties
In this role, employees work with real wood veneer products using specialized hand tools, heated repair irons, and precision assembly techniques. Daily responsibilities include repairing veneer, assembling finished products, inspecting materials for quality, completing repetitive production tasks, and meeting established production goals. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and the ability to perform repetitive hand work throughout the shift.
Schedule and Pay
• Full-time First Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• 30-minute unpaid lunch break
• $17.05 per hour effective rate
• No mandatory nights or holidays
• Consistent weekday manufacturing schedule
Manufacturing Work Environment
Our team works in a clean, organized 44,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Troy, Michigan. Unlike many industrial environments, our workplace is well maintained and free from excessive grease, heavy dirt, or harsh factory conditions. Employees enjoy a collaborative production setting where quality workmanship, teamwork, and dependable manufacturing practices are valued every day.
Qualifications
• Comfortable performing repetitive hand assembly and repair tasks
• Ability to use small hand tools while working with detailed materials
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Ability to stand and work with your hands throughout the shift
• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, warehouse, machine operation, woodworking, or general labor is preferred but not required
• Willingness to learn new skills and consistently follow quality procedures
