Diamond & Precious Metals Sales / Business Development Representative

Aureus Metals Corporation is seeking a highly self-motivated Sales & Business Development Representative to help grow our diamond and precious-metals business from our Austin office at The Malin.

This is an entrepreneurial sales position with significant independence and uncapped earning potential. Management travels frequently, so we are looking for someone who can take ownership of the role, manage their own schedule, generate leads, follow up with customers, and actively pursue new business without requiring constant supervision.

Responsibilities include:

  • Sell loose natural diamonds to jewelers, dealers, designers, private clients, and other qualified buyers.
  • Develop new customers throughout Austin, Texas, and nationally.
  • Build relationships with jewelers, jewelry stores, pawn shops, estate buyers, gold buyers, and other industry contacts.
  • Generate leads through telephone, email, in-person outreach, networking, social media, and online marketplaces.
  • Create and manage professional listings on platforms such as eBay and other appropriate sales channels.
  • Manage social media advertising and content designed to generate qualified buyers and sellers.
  • Arrange customer appointments and product presentations.
  • Provide professional customer service and maintain consistent follow-up with prospective and existing clients.
  • Assist in developing Aureus Metals’ gold and precious-metals purchasing business in Austin.
  • Identify and develop recurring commercial sources of gold, jewelry, and precious metals.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to customers, leads, sales, purchases, and high-value inventory.
  • Coordinate shipping, receiving, documentation, and inventory administration.
  • Handle valuable merchandise with a high level of care, discretion, organization, and accountability.
  • Make occasional business trips between Austin and San Antonio for refinery deliveries and related transactions as the precious-metals business grows.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Extremely self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
  • Entrepreneurial and results-driven.
  • Professional, polished, trustworthy, and highly organized.
  • Strong at developing relationships and closing sales.
  • Persistent with prospecting and customer follow-up.
  • Comfortable handling and administering high-value merchandise.
  • Experienced with social media, online advertising, eBay, or similar marketplaces.
  • Comfortable working with both business clients and private customers.
  • Able to manage several opportunities and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable conducting outside sales and developing business throughout the Austin area.

Experience in diamonds, fine jewelry, luxury retail, watches, precious metals, gold buying, high-end automotive sales, real estate, B2B sales, or other relationship-driven sales is highly desirable.

Diamond or jewelry experience is preferred but not required for an exceptional salesperson who is motivated to learn the industry.

English required. Spanish is a strong plus.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Compensation

This is a performance-driven position offering a guaranteed base plus uncapped commission.

  • Commission on gross profit from qualifying diamond sales originated by the representative.
  • Commission on gross profit from qualifying gold and precious-metals business originated by the representative.
  • Additional performance incentives may be available.
  • Exceptional performers have the potential to earn $150,000+ annually.

We are looking for someone who sees an opportunity and pursues it — not someone who needs to be told what to do every day.
