Community Services for Children is hiring an Early Education Support Specialist for the Head Start and Pre-K Counts programs. In this position, you will provide program support for service area activities including ensuring the highest quality environmental health and safety of all classrooms as well as indoor and outdoor child spaces through the ongoing monitoring, tracking, and reporting of industry standards and safety regulations. You will also provide other program support services including but not limited to classroom coverage for both Lead and Assistant Teachers, classroom inventory, and material replacement and ordering.

Newly hired staff members will receive a $500 net monetary incentive upon completion of probation.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain inventory and provide all Head Start classrooms and Early Education Managers with all materials identified for classroom curriculum.
  • Maintain continuity in vacant classrooms by providing coverage for absent primary Lead and Assistant Teachers when needed.
  • Complete Health and Safety Checklists in all classrooms on a bi-monthly basis and inform leadership with all identified classroom discrepancies.
  • Provide regularly scheduled playground inspections and make necessary referrals to ensure the safety of outdoor play areas.
  • Work with site sponsors, classroom staff and supervisors, Facilities, licensing agencies and others regarding site issues, on-going maintenance and inspections.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Early Education.


Requirements:

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) or Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • Three years pre-school classroom experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with individuals of varying economic, educational and cultural backgrounds.
  • Bilingual (English/ Spanish) a plus.
  • Ability to receive and respond to agency telephone contacts in a timely manner.
  • Valid driver's license, full time use of car.
