Job description

NOW HIRING: Park Maintenance (Full-Time)
JOB SUMMARY: The Park Maintenance candidate is a responsible, hard-working, and knowledgeable person who will tend to the upkeep of the Park District's parks and facilities. General park maintenance includes operation of equipment used for mowing, landscaping, and snow removal, as well as athletic field maintenance, playground inspection and repair, turf care, custodial duties, event set-ups, and supervision of part time and seasonal employees.
LOCATION: Tinley Park-Park District, Parks Department Maintenance Garage, 16801 S. 80th Ave., Tinley Park
QUALIFICATIONS: The qualified individual should have a high school diploma or equivalent. 2 years of experience in grounds maintenance, park and/or landscape maintenance is preferred. Working knowledge of the operation and use of specialized and heavy motor equipment used in general construction and maintenance activities is required, along with a basic understanding of hand tools, carpentry, painting, electrical, and plumbing. The qualified individual must hold a valid, clean driver's license at all times. Possession of an Illinois Pesticide Operators License is required within 6 months of hire date, as well as a CPR certification. A mandatory physical, drug screening, and criminal background check are required prior to employment.
INCENTIVES: This full-time position requires flexibility to work some weekend, evening, and overtime hours. Pay rate begins at $20.00 per hour.
