OUR VISION amp; MISSION
As part of the CEOs of Indiana Corporate Partnership, TechPoint is the nonprofit, industry-led growth initiative driving Indiana's tech ecosystem. TechPoint functions as the strategic hub that connects public, private, academic and philanthropic partners focused on technology. Today TechPoint is striving to make Indiana a tech leader through the intersection of the tech sector with advanced industries.

Based in Indianapolis at 16 Tech, TechPoint's mission is to drive Indiana's tech ecosystem through talent, innovation and community — strengthening the tech talent pipeline, accelerating startup and enterprise growth, enhancing resource connectivity, and elevating the state's tech community through collaboration and storytelling.
ROLE OVERVIEW
TechPoint's Content Strategist develops the editorial strategy and storytelling that positions TechPoint as the trusted storyteller of Indiana's technology ecosystem. This role helps translate organizational priorities into editorial priorities, audience strategy, content formats, channels, and the editorial calendar to ensure content advances TechPoint's strategic goals. The role supports TechPoint’s marketing, membership, sponsorship, and program engagement objectives.
Working closely with the Marketing amp; Engagement team, program staff, member organizations, and external contributors, the Content Strategist researches, develops, and creates compelling stories across entrepreneurship, workforce development, AI, and Indiana's advanced industries. The role serves as TechPoint's primary storyteller, developing compelling content, helping establish editorial standards, measuring performance, and identifying opportunities to strengthen TechPoint's thought leadership and earned media efforts.
This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Senior Manager of Marketing. The position has no direct reports but may coordinate the work of freelance writers, photographers, videographers, and other creative partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement content strategies that align with marketing and initiative priorities, in partnership with Marketing leadership.
  • Research, write, and produce stories on member companies, founders, and community leaders, with a focus on where technology intersects Indiana's advanced industries
  • Partner with program and engagement staff to uncover stories tied to entrepreneurship, workforce development, and AI/tech advancements
  • Develop content for events including agendas, speaker profiles, scripts, presentations, promotional materials, and post-event recaps in collaboration with subject matter experts and the Director of Events
  • Develop storytelling assets that build awareness and engagement for TechPoint programs
  • Coordinate a consistent content pipeline (written, video, and multimedia) working directly with freelance writers, photographers, and videographers
  • Conduct interviews with executives, entrepreneurs, students, and community stakeholders to source stories
  • Update and maintain editorial standards ensuring content represents the diversity and breadth of Indiana's regions, industries, and tech community
  • Share ideas with the Marketing team for pitching stories to grow TechPoint's earned media placements
  • Optimize content for discovery (SEO/AEO) across techpoint.org and social channels
  • Partner with the Digital Marketing Specialist to align content output with the publishing calendar and campaign execution
  • Ensure content deliverables support the membership, sponsorship, and participation goals the Senior Manager sets, without owning those targets directly
  • Measure and report on content performance (engagement, traffic, media placements, program participation) and recommend adjustments based on results
  • Support strategic deliverables including annual reports, case studies, insight reports, thought leadership etc.
  • Monitor trends in tech, AI, and workforce development to surface timely storytelling opportunities
  • Support TechPoint initiatives and other marketing duties as they arise
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years in content strategy, journalism, or content marketing, with a portfolio showing both planning and execution
  • Experience producing event content (scripts, speaker materials, recaps) under deadline
  • Working knowledge of SEO and emerging AEO/GEO practices
  • Experience coordinating freelance creative contributors
  • Strong interviewing skills; ability to translate technical/business topics into accessible stories
  • Experience in a small, fast-paced team where priorities shift often
  • Strong written communication and command of AP style
  • Familiarity with TechPoint's stack: Salesforce, Box, Microsoft 365, Asana, Canva/WordPress as relevant to the role
  • Comfort using AI tools to improve day-to-day efficiency
  • Genuine interest in Indiana's tech and startup ecosystem
BENEFITS
  • 100% of your healthcare and dental premiums are paid for individual and family.
  • Pre-tax amp; Roth 401(k) Retirement Plan with generous match — 5% contributed by the employer regardless of employee contribution and up to an additional 5% employee voluntary contribution eligible to be matched by the employer.
  • Company paid group life benefits as well as company paid short-term and long-term disability insurance.
  • Flexible/hybrid work schedule.
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) including 17 holidays!
