Situated at the end of famed Canal Street, The Westin New Orleans offers stunning views of the mighty Mississippi River and the French Quarter. Guests are just steps from the Shops at Canal Place and Harrah's Casino and a short walk to the excitement of Bourbon Street and the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Overview

The Valet Manager is responsible for overseeing the Valet Attendants, and Overnight Valet at both The Westin New Orleans and The RIverfront Hotel. They are also responsible for the daily operation of Parking/Valet, as well as supervising the activities of motor vehicles, limousines and motor coaches and for ensuring that Highgate standards are upheld on a daily basis.

Responsibilities
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner. Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times. Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel(s).
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag while working.
  • Comply at all times with Highgate standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Respond to all guest's requests, problems, complaints, and/or accidents presented throughout reservations, comments cards, letters and/or phone calls, in attentive, courteous and efficient manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all Uniformed Services personnel according to Highgate SOP's.
  • Prepare and conduct interviews and follow hiring procedures according to Highgate SOPs.
  • Develop employee morale and ensure training of Valet personnel.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees and other departments.
  • Understand hospitality terms.
  • Prepare employee schedule according to business forecast, payroll budget guidelines and productivity requirements.
  • Ensure staff greet and welcome all guests in accordance with Highgate SOP's.
  • Coordinate manifest arrival and departure patterns with large group.
  • Coordinate luggage holding areas and bag pushes and pulls with clients.
  • Inspect all areas of department to meet cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Maintain extensive files on all area restaurants, attractions, theaters, shopping centers, sporting events, baby-sitting services, health clubs, maps, etc.
  • Maintain concierge materials in a professional and organized manner.
  • Attend monthly all-employee team meetings and any other functions required by management.
  • Ensure that employees are, at all times, attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guest, managers and other employees.
  • Maintain and monitor "Lost and Found" procedures and policies according to Highgate standards.
  • Establish and maintain key control system.
  • Ensure participation within department for monthly Highgate team meeting.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required
  • At least two years of related managerial experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Windows  Company approved spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Must have a valid driver's license from the applicable state.
