Job description

The Project Controls Lead at Overwatch Construction Management plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating project controls activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements. This position involves working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop, monitor, and report on project schedules, budgets, risks, and change management processes.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project controls within the construction industry, including on transit/transportation projects, strong leadership capabilities, and a detail-oriented approach to managing complex projects. The Project Controls Lead will ensure consistency in project controls methodology across projects and provide guidance and support to project controls team members.

Salary Range: $150,000-$160,000

Project Start Date: July 1, 2026

Project Duration: 24 months

Full-time, on-site position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project controls activities including scheduling, cost control, forecasting, risk management, and change management.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and cost estimates in coordination with project teams.
  • Monitor project progress and performance against baseline plans, identify deviations, and propose corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely and accurate reporting of project controls data.
  • Manage risk identification, assessment, and mitigation processes.
  • Oversee change management processes ensuring compliance with contract requirements and internal policies.
  • Prepare and present project controls reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support project controls staff to build capability and ensure best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in project controls within the construction industry, preferrably on transit projects
  • Proven leadership skills with experience leading project controls teams.
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and cost control tools (e.g., Prolog, Primavera Contract Management).
  • Excellent understanding of project control processes including scheduling, cost estimating, forecasting, risk analysis, and change management.
  • Ability to analyze complex project data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience with large capital projects, preferably in airport or infrastructure sectors, is highly desirable.
  • Certifications such as PSP, PMP, PMI-SP, or CCP preferred
